Dubai Marathon 2016 - The debut that made me believe in the power of will.

Its quite natural and is a biological process for you to feel the muscle pain when you tend to push your physical limitations. This was the same with me when I progressed from 5kms to a Half Marathon. I also had my regular strength and core training clubbed with weekend long runs and one fine day, i was ready to choose the D day for a full marathon. I chose Dubai and was a random choice I made. I registered a year in advance to keep myself on my toes when it comes to training and had ample time to prepare for the run. While following with my regime, an unfortunate incident put my wish list in doubt. I suffered a L5 disc bulge that kept tapping the S1 root nerve shooting pains from the back to glutes to knee and foot. The pains were terrible. This wasnt a day incident but gradually took its time to aggrevate and raise the red flag by November 2015. Garhwal Run 74kms - Road to LAULTRA 111kms.

Garhwal run will put you through testing ascent throughout the distance, running through lush green forests and countryside of Himalayan foothills. Finishing point will be Dhanaulti TOP. The route will go through the villages of Kokriyal, Dubhra, Sakalana and Daulagiri. Total elevation gain on the race route is 7300 feet. Garhwal Runs has the 33 km & the 74 km categories that are the qualifying distances for the 55 km & 111 km LA ULTRA – THE HIGH. https://www.laultra.in/events/garhwal-runs/ Tale of my Run:- The 6:30am start line was at Raipur busstop and the first 6 kms is like nobody's business. The party begins at 7th km where the altitude gains with every km. There are a few easy descent that come to your rescue but dont fall prey for it till you hit the first peak at 33kms. You run down in your 34th and enjoy a easy descent till 47th km, this is when you hit the bridge and turn left towards Dhanaulti. You are well guided here by the volunteers. a...
