Alpha League Race - The true taste of mettel.

25kms and 100+ obstacles to overcome, this was indeed a blind date with no prior experience of even a hurdle race. It was pure enthusiasm and zeal to try out something new that had hit the city for the first time. The 5km category did not appeal much and so was left with the 25km category to sign up with.  It wasnt easy to get through the selection but I was able to meet the criteria for making it to only 18 runners in the city. The qualification gave a feeling of being a deserving candidate for the event.  The mileage wasnt a major concern here, but crossing over the obstacle a 100+ times definitely gave jitters especially the rope climbs, crawls, running with dead weights and walking over the bamboos. The organizers had conducted training and learning sessions for the obstacles that gave you much needed insight of what to expect during the run.  The struggle began at 6am on d day. Being the Guide runner to the differently abled - No sympathies just pure inspiration..

No sympathies just pure inspiration.. While the hustle with the corporate life continued, running as a passion was building its own lifeline. Running teams were formed and like minded people started to tag along. Running as a team at different events became a ritual and just then I came across the social cause of being a guide runner to the visually impaired runners. These were the moments of pure inspiration one can derive from the high will powered individuals who against odds have taken up running in their life-long existence. Now, times when I run in pain, ...

The Hell Race - 65kms Buddha Trail Run - Where heavenly sights are Hell in disguise.

The ultimate goal has been LAULTRA 111kms which is due August 2021 and since I qualified, my aim is to hit the mountains as much as I can and get the much needed miles under my belt. The Hell Race looked appealing, though a different terrain but the 65km Buddha Trail Run ( an equivalent to 100km road run) is something that could help me in altitude trainings. So without further due, I signed up and got a confirmation email that made think if i had dug my own grave :) , The email was quite amusing:- Travelled to Bagdogra to Darjelling to Rimbick in covid times with utmost care and waited for the D day. Did a few runs in Darjelling in my new Columbia montetrail shoe to keep the shoe bites in check but none happened.  Rimbick homestays were welcoming and felt the warmth of hospitality in every bit. The post race article described it all , Read here :- https://www.thehellrace.com/the-buddha-trails-2021-press-release/ and yes, I got lucky with my pic ...
